Selling my HM Strats
Circumstances are forcing me to sell my beloved HM Strats; I’d like to give readers here first shot at them before I list them on Ebay.
The guitars for sale are the pink and blue ones in the photo below. I’ve also created a page with lots of photos.

Specs
Both guitars recently had the frets dressed.
Pink HM Strat
Make bid
Bridge pickup: Joe Barden
Neck Pickup: Duncan JB Jr bridge, white. I can put the original pickup back in if you prefer.
Middle pickup: The original single-coil installed by Fender. Not sure what it is.
Trem: Kahler Spyder, all parts work but they don’t all match because I’ve had to retrofit spares.
Trivia: Used on SoP tour and in “Out in the Real World” video.
Neck: Overall condition of the frets is very good. Neck has clear varnish on back, like a standard Fender.
Blue-green HM Strat -SOLD 601 Euros
Bridge: Not sure — probably a Tom Anderson
Neck Pickup: Duncan JB Jr neck, black and missing top cover. I can put the original pickup back in if you prefer.
Middle pickup: The original single-coil installed by Fender. Not sure what it is.
Trem: Kahler Spyder, all parts work but they don’t all match because I’ve had to retrofit spares.
Neck: Overall condition of the frets is good. Neck has finish sanded off on the back, feels very smooth.
Trivia: I used this guitar to record all of my Demo 2004, all of the guitar work with SoP, and guest solos on Mountain of Power
More photos and details available on request.
Note to potential US Buyers: I will be in the US between 26 October and 5 November, so I can ship from there which will drastically reduce the shipping costs.
Interested parties please email me: lori at feminoise dot com . The guitars will go to the highest bidders, as the only main reason I’m selling is because I need to raise some cash.
Sorry for the lack of real articles lately — major life changes are going on here at the moment so I’ve had to put blogging on the back burner for a while. I’ll be back soon…with a vengeance! ![]()

Thanks, Mike. I’m not in any kind of dire situation — don’t worry! But right now having a buffer of cash in the bank far outweighs the sentimental value of the HMs.
What.. how coincidental.. Where will you be in the US Lori?? Because I will be there from the 20th of October till november 11.
Too bad that you are going to have to sell your guitars to raise cash though.. that sucks so to speak
(But you will still have the new one right?? I forgot the name but it’s more like.. you can still play guitar if you wanna)
Hope your changes will work out for the better and all the luck from me ^^
Icey
Thanks Icey. I do have other guitars to play, so it’s not such a crisis. And I also want to lighten the load to increase my mobility. I’ve already sold all of my CDs (except a few super-favorites), given away most of my books, and donated lots of clothes and household items to the red cross. It’s been cathartic
Hmm next thing we hear is you’ll be selling your hair
(of course that is crazy.. you gotta love the hair… but well so does sound selling books and cd’s to me.. I dont own much.. but after my camera my cd’s and books are amongst the things I wanna hang on to the most.
Getting rid of clothes I do understand however :p tossed out a lot of shirts a while ago to make space for my more professional outfits (suits, shirts, ties and such things more) since im now a working man and all
(earning money to buy even more camera goodies (and other things too.. such as a house somewhere along the road.. and furniture and and and.. no guitars since I tried and cant play nuthin
Well, one thing that I will NEVER sell is…
…Macophie’s BANANA SOCKS!!!!
Hi Lori,
This is a bit surprising, althought we all have to get used to things not staying the same.
That being said,if i could afford it,i’d buy at least one to lend it to you if ever needed.
Wish you well.
That’s sweet, Jomaheux — thanks for the thought!
“THE ESSENCE OF PROGRESS IS CHANGE !”
(I heard that on “Batman” recently !)
Nuuuuu! We need to start a “Save Lori’s HMs” fundraiser!
Aww, that’s sweet, but it’s not necessary! Part of my goal is to raise cash AND lighten my load, as I will be moving soon.
Have a great time in the US.And good luck on the move, I guess..You’ll sell those guitars easily as they come from the one and only metal goddess
Hugs and greetz Taz
Can we know more about these life changes?
I wish you’d say you decided to move to France ahaha
The red guitar reminds me of my Charvel CH4 that I ended up GIVING AWAY to a friend’s sister. I kind of regret my action sometimes.
Too bad that I don’t like the curvy end of yours. Otherwise, I would have bought it!
When I decide to start again with guitar playing, I think I’ll choose a G3T ( http://www.hohnerusa.com/upload/bildpoolcms/gal00000472gr.jpg )
Soooo beautiful!
You have to promise to keep blogging, wherever you go! I’m sure they have wi-fi on the northpole by now!
It really sucks that you have to sell your beloved axes. I’ll check if there’s enough dough in my bank account to make a bid. The only problem is that I live all the way to Mexico
Hope everything works out great for you.
Don’t worry Lori, guitars are only instruments, they’re made to help us bring our feelings to people’s ears.
don’t forget that the guitar is only the instrument, and the most important part is in your head and your heart.
you don’t need any guitar to be The Amazing Lori Fucking Linstruth
good luck with the move
Greetings from Argentina!!
So sorry to hear about this, Lori. I’d just send you some money if I could, to keep this from being necessary. It’s so sad that you gotta do this. But as Dread commented, you’re still a great guitarist, and that’s what matters most. You’re not giving up playing or anything. Now that would be a real tragedy.
My only advice is this: As long as you still have a guitar you love to play, it won’t kill you to part with the pink and blue lovelies. Of course, now every time I watch the Stream of Passion DVD, I’ll remember how purdy you look with them!
Best of luck, and I hope your life situation improves soon.
Hi Lori!
This is really surprising, I never thought you’d sell your guitars!!
Anyway, I hope it’s for better. I guess some changes are good sometimes.
I’m interested in one of them, depending on the price of course. A Lori guitar!!! WOW, a dream come true
Big HUGS!
Hi Lori,
hope your guitars find themselves a good home and give you enough room to move
Hugs
Gwen
Lori,
Thanks for the email replies. Like I told you, those Strats are your trademark. Will be sure to find them a good home.
Saludos from Panama!
Lighten the load to soar the capricious winds, it can be fun, best wishes on your winds of change.
Hi Lori,
didn’t know where else to say this, but ;
YAY FOR BEING ON THE NEW AYREON
Thanks, Phil! I’m totally honored to be there, believe me
And so is my bunny
Hi Lori,
Good luck with whatever you are going to do! Sounds like you are making some BIG life changes! Wishing you all the best on that adventure!’
A fan from Holland
Hi Lori,
Came to say Good luck with all the changes. Thanks for the e-mail replies Hope your journey will be special.
ligth, swift and amazing, hope all the changes bring you what you are looking for.

about your ayreon solo.
In the wise words of Quentin Tarantino “I say goddamm”
(Gindenlow and Lori arjen already has half of my dream band)
Awww, thanks! Glad you like it! Can’t tell you how much I love those chords, or how much I wish that (for once) the solo spot was LONGER!
Wow!
Lori and Michael Romeo on the same album!
There are some stylistic similarities between the two,i find.
About a year ago,i fantasized once or twice about a double bill tour featuring SoP and SymphonyX and that they’d play in Montreal.
Anyways, nice to hear some fresh playing!
i say “goddamm” and you say “awww” that was just plain funny.
you are rigth on the money about those chords.
Arjen should relase some day a “backing tracks for guitar soloing” (But I dont think he will).
Hope the guitar bid is going well and hopefully ends up in the hands of a fan.
I totally agree with you Andres
hugs
Gwen
Thanks, Sweetie! Huggies!!!!
Hi Lori,
I’m sad to hear about you Selling your guitars. I hope your guitars will find a good home too.
See you
Thanks! Don’t worry, I’ll only sell them to a good home
I’d be glad to be a temporary storehouse for your guitars. Then you could move around all you want to and when you’re settled in I could send them back to you.
Thanks, Mark. But in addition to lightening the load before I move, I really do need to raise some extra cash. I’ve been on sick leave for a long time, so the coffers are running pretty low. But folkx, DON’T worry! Everything will be fine, and there is a lot of positive change going on — it’s not all doom and gloom, I promise.
Not all doom and gloom ! Then how can there be heavy metal?
Is there a link to this new solo? I’d look for it myself, but I’ve retired from the real world
Hi Lori!
I just herd you are selling your guitars… that made me very sad
I wish I had the money to buy one of them… i’d make two people happy, you (of course) and my dad who is a huge Fender fan… he has a 1967 USA Stratocaster and he absolutely loves that guitar!
I wish you all the best in the future and stay metal!
p.s. The Luna guitar is gorgeous!
Skål från Finland!
Hi sculpey,
I found it there:
http://www.arjenlucassen.com/ayreon/ay_news.html
Then click on the ”three guitarists” link.
It is great to know that Lori plays in new upcoming Ayreon album and appears as one of the three guitarists. I wish Lori you will use your lovely strat HM guitar to play in some songs in this album~ ^_^
I am happy that the bid went well. And is nice that you say the price in euros is just classier.
good luck in everything
Hey Lori! love your playin’! can’t believe you’ll be on the next Ayreon album…hope you’re fine sweetie! keep rockin’ hard! hope to hear more from you…take care…see ya…GUILLE.
