No motivation to practice, you say? Try my online practice motivator
OK chickadees, more variations on the theme of becoming a productively practicing guitarist! Here’s a kick in the butt for those of you whose noble intentions about regular practice are always getting thwarted by the goof-off monster. You know who you are!
Make the Shredtracker guitar practice motivator your new home page. You’ll either get the kick in the butt you need or collapse under the guilt of seeing how much time you waste dorking around.
Major credit goes to Mark Taw for his awesome Getting Back to Work motivator, the script for which I mangled and bent to my will. Found via the ever-so-inspiring 43-folders.

This looks good. I can fill it in in the morning, and then come back the next morning to see if I made it. I’m just not sure if it’s going to track my practice if I switch PC’s in the meantime. (work/home/wife’s/server 1/server 2/PDA/Wii/studio …)
You’d need to go back using the same PC, as it works by setting a cookie on your machine.
I noticed when checking out the script. Still useful, though
Y’know what actually motivates me? Your videos. I see somethin’, and I think, “Kinda neat, gonna try that out….” and wind up playing for hours on end without ever even having the intent to.
I’ll try this, too, though, for the Hell of it =p
Yeah, watching videos is a good way to get some motivation. I’ll watch guitarists like Andy Timmons and Guthrie Govan and be in complete awe the whole way through…
Then I pick up my guitar and get to work!
