LL Interview on Shred Academy

Yes, you read that right. Ali from Shred Academy asked asked little ole anything-but-a-shredder me for an interview a couple of weeks ago (thanks again, Ali!). So for those of you who can’t get enough of my acerbic ramblings, you can read the interview here.

great interview, i love the term “rays of awesomeness” and i think i might have to incorporate that into my everyday language.

and that talk of megadeth reminded me of the time I was playing bass guitar for my high school’s combined junior high/high school jazz band (jazz band.. *shudder*) and lo and behold, I walk out on stage and none other than Dave Mustaine is sitting 2nd row, right in front of where I was standing.
talk about pressure. I felt so awesome and so lame at the same time. I mean i’m playing guitar for dave mustaine, and it has to be junior high jazz band music. real cool.

you have a wonderful vocabulary, lori. I love it. haha. I feel like i’m learning better english from reading this blog.

Nice interview Lori!

It’s have been a long time since I had this problem too but everything is going fine now … I moved to Linux! :D

Lori…

Just here, to say “Bravo !” - for such a cool and interesting interview !
Also to Alistair Campbell - (”Respect !”) - Thanks for sharing, Lori !

BTW - Zeno Roth…?!
It’s a disgrace, that he just seems to be considered a lost “snap-shot” amidst the “wide-screen” panoramic (over)view of guitar players/shredders !

If you’ve not heard him, his recent “Runway To The Gods” CD is amazing !
He deserves to be SO respected - (alongside his bROTHer) - Hmm ?!

That’s it !

Have been waiting for a Lori Interview for quite some time. Still have some questions though: When did you start playing guitar? How many hours did you practice back then even though now you hardly practice at all. Have you sung on any albums or in live shows? You do sound like you have a beautiful voice in the videos.

We will love to get a LL instructional DVD! Whether it’s a studio cut or bedroom produced.

Funny I always think there’s a mysterious connection between you and Marty. Now I see that link is Uli Roth!

Lastly, my best wished to you. You will overcome your health problems very soon I can tell. Be the force with you…

Cool and funny interview, but it took me a while before I figured out you were on the 10th anniversary version of TFE instead of the original (silly me *rolls eyes*)

Thanks for sharing it Lori!

Sierra: I feel your pain about having to play jazz in front of Mr. Mustaine. What a bummer. Glad to hear that the site is helping you with your English. That’s an unexpected bonus! I do have two English learning sites on the web (soon to be three), but am no way linking to them from here!

Mps: I would totally go Linux if I weren’t so dependent on Windows apps. Or go Mac/Protools if I could afford it. I think I’ll be getting help with the bluescreen stuff soon, though :) Thank goodness!

Stephen: Yeah, full respect for ZENO. I think part of the reason he’s not more widely known is that, despite the guitar playing being phenomenal, the music itself is a bit of an acquired taste. Particularly the vocals. But ZENO is on my list of “guys I’d love to take lessons from if I could.”

Chen: I’m flattered by your curiosity about little ole me. I think I’ll start Q & A page, because I get a lot of questions about hair care, male groupies, and my guitar equipment. Time to get all that up on one page for easy reference! ;)

Hi Lori…

Yes, I DO know what you mean !

Also, he’s p’haps the most caring, gentle, quiet n’ softly spoken person I know…
Which (I think) isn’t very helpful in the predatory world of the music business ?!

Keep getting well m’ dearest…
with love !

Oh no ! It’s gone midnight…
Yet another birthday ?!
(Don’t ask - lol !)

A little sidenote… I’ll check out one of your English learning sites (found B @ E). There’s still a lot to learn for me (and might be interesting too if I hit university one day).

Greetings from a sunny SoP-city,
Rob.
