Help identifying bridge pickup in HM Strat

I love the sound of the bridge pickup in my blue HM Strat, but I don’t know what it is. It’s not the normal pickup that you find on HM’s, and last time I took the guitar apart I don’t remember seeing any identifying marks or brand names. I’d like to get another one for my PINK guitar, thus the need to know what the heck it is. If anybody out there can solve the mystery, I’ll be grateful for your help.

Lori's HM bridge pickup

[UPDATE: Thanks to all who responded. The Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder isn’t a humbucker, so we can scratch that one. The two main contenders so far are

The Tom Anderson H1

And the Rio Grande “Muy Grande”

As many have pointed out in comments, trying to determine the origin of an unmarked pickup is the path to madness. But in my experience, the squeaky wheel gets the grease, so I had to ask!

Hello Lori,

It looks a lot like a Tom Anderson,if not that then a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder.

My hint is the big pole pieces with no screws.

Type to you later,
Jocelyn

Lori,

At http://www.andersonguitars.com , check under “tone library” because they have different models of humbuckers and they possibly all look the same.Maybe also get the electric “measurements” of your pick-up and contact them to make sure they have the same model.

Kristof,

I’ll check the sky for groups of witches flying on their brooms to the sit of the event.

In the meantime, you might install your HM’s bridge pup into the pink to see how it sounds in that guitar. All your searching for a duplicate may be in vain because pink still may not sound to your expectations with that pup.

Not being a stock, nor having identifying marks will be like trying to find a needle in a haystack. If you know a good guitar tech, take it to them, and they might simply be able to tone match you a pickup, might not be exact, but they should be able to get it close enough.

JoeJoe’s right. Work out a time to get with a tech you trust who has access to a variety of humbuckers that can be compared & switched in/out until something similar is found.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions, everybody. Where I live, having somebody try to tone match for me would be impossible. But next time I take the guitar apart I’ll double check to see if there are ANY marks at all. At least now I have some leads to possible manufacturers.

And btw Kristof, Walpurgis Night came and went unnoticed by yours truly, but thanks for the thought! :)

No problem, Jomaheux!

On inspecting my guitar closely, I could see that the metal brackets that hold the pickup to the body look like the Tom Anderson pickup, not at all like the Muy Grande. So I think we might have found the answer! Here in Sweden it would most likely be a rather mainstream brand, not some off-the-wall brand we’ve never heard of.
