Do you play a Strat? Send me a photo!
Hi all,
I’ve got an idea for a fun project for people who play Strats (or any guitar with a Strat-style body — it doesn’t have to be a Fender). But I need a bunch of photos to get it off the ground. If you would like to be included, just send me a photo of yourself with your strat, and write a little note telling me about your guitar. Where you bought it, what you like about it, what you might not like about it, etc. Send it to me in an email or just email me with a link to where I can download it. You can also email me about the project if you want to know more about it before sending me your photo.
Thanks!

Do superstrats count? And ministrats?
Kristof, I have a very liberal policy when it comes to what falls under the “Strat” umbrella (Fender would not approve, but I’m not a Fender endorsee, so WTF). So anything that has a basic Strat-shaped body is OK. Even pointy super-strats.
Does it have to be a pic of yourself? can it be one of my singer/guitarplayer as well?
mmm come to think of it, guess not…
I wish I could play guitar…
Gibson fan here. Sorry
But can you tell us a little more about this project?
Me too Rob, but you can’t tell that from a picture
Haha, but you Hugo, got a Strat. I never even touched one. I only chose one…
Maybe Icey can solve that problem for you, with a little help from his friend Pho.
You’re right; I got a strat look-alike, just no photo of me with it. But I do have 3 sets of empty batteries for my digicam to help me solve that problem.
mmm if you want to start, Rob, you sound more like a drummer to me
That’s a nice (and yes, fun) idea ! Any kinda (to arrive by) time restrictions ?
Thanks !
A drummer? I’ve kinda no click at all with drums. If music becomes too much drum-focussed (read: rocky) I quit.
My interests are definitely laying at a guitar or keys.
I could participate. I’m curious about this project !
Cool that people are interested! Just to clarify, it should be a picture of yourself, not of someone else.
Any strat-type guitar is OK, it doesn’t have to be a Fender. But the strat body shape is the “one shape to rule them all”
I only need a few more volunteers with photos and texts to get the project going. Once the site is up, it will kind of explain itself.
I find the strat shape to be the most comfortable. I have an Ibanez RG 550, Ibanez SZ520QM, and a Jackson Dinky EX which are all strat shaped but their tones are vastly different. I could never get into the Les paul…to dang heavy and uncomfortable to play.
I won’t spoil the fun with photoshopped photos
Curious to the endresult…
I’ll wait till it’s up and then perhaps contact some guitarists I know and such (if they play the type of guitar required
Ooo bummer, I made my guitar from scratch with a futuristic shape, but I do love strats, used to have a few, best wishes with the project, later and greater!
Tony
Just to clarify, this will be an ongoing project, so there is no deadline! And if there is enough interest, I *may* consider expanding the project to include all models of electric guitar. Thanks to all who have contributed so far — I’m working my butt off this week and haven’t had much time for emailing. You can all expect replies soon!
Kristof, your legalese mail was SO F’N FUNNY — thanks for totally brightening my day the other day!
You got mail
Had a Fender Strat once, but wasn’t happy with it (funny, I’ve got NO pics whatsoever of that one). Now I use the ESP and Gibson LP mostly, but I still have my Strat-alikes Eugen (hand crafted/custom) and Epiphone.
Wow Lori!
I’ve been trying to contact you thru myspace and another site referred by your myspace person. I wanna blog you in my Strat-o-sisters series but would like a pic to use that you like a lot– of you playing a Strat. Stop by and look around. You are a monster player!!!!

PS I’m definitely adding this blog to my blogroll!
Hi JP,
Sorry, been busy this week so I’m a bit backed up on the email. Feel free to blog whatever you like – there are a bunch of photos on my static website: http://www.lorilinstruth.com/pics.php
Monster Diva — guilty as charged. Monster player? Err, ummm, well, *cough* only with my rubber duckie in the bathtub…

Hi Lori,
I want to take part in your Strat project, but I’m just one of those ol’ ugly guys. *cough* LOL Great guitarplaying, great music btw.
Best
Hi Lori,
Will jou post the results of all of this on your blog, curious how it turns out
hugs,
Gwen
Kai, bollocks to being an ol’ ugly guy. Beauty is a state of mind…
But if you’re feeling shy, you could just take a photo of your hands on the guitar or something — it’d be a shame to have timidness keeping you from participating!
Gwen, the project will be an ongoing thing (hopefully), much bigger than just a post on this blog. I’ve had lots of great submissions so far, just need to get the site ready now! I hope to have it go live next weekend
What in earth are you up to with all those Strat-lovers in a site? Being an late-starter at guitar playing, I agree that there is no other than a Strat. Surprise me!

Hi Lori
Jep, you are really making me curious as well, can’t wait to see what you have been up to this time.
You are truly amazing, you know that.
hugs,
Gwen
As soon as I manage to take a decent photo of myself with the Strat, I’ll send it to you.
Don’t get too excited, folks. It’s just a silly little project!
Thanks Gwen, you are such a sweetie!
And Hugo, I’m so glad that you’ve decided to participate!
We’re still waiting for it though.. curiosity and all
