Cover girl at last…

Who woulda thunk it. My ugly mug on the cover of a magazine…

I’m massively allergic to gratuitous self-promotion (even on my own gosh darn blog — no wonder I still have to work a day job) which is why I didn’t tell you all about Janne Stark’s (of Mountain of Power, Locomotive Breath and Overdrive repute) interview with me in last month’s FUZZ magazine, or the awesome review he wrote of Live in the Real World in Sweden Rock Magazine (thanks Janne!). But the cover photo below was taken by our very own Maarten (aka Icey)! And P.L.A.G is all about sharin’ the luuuuuv….

Don’t worry Icey, the photo credit is inside the mag, on the article itself.

On the cover of a magazine, yeah

For P.L.A.G visitors who read French, I think you can find the magazine and article somewhere at www.eguitaremag.com. I talk a lot of trash in it; good thing it’s in French so my mom doesn’t freak out ;-) Yes, even metal divas worry about what their parents think of them :-o

Ooh, that’s cool! I’ll check the links later this night.
So you can also write/read French… You’re really a smart metal diva ;-)

Erm, “ugly mug” ?! C’mon, be honest, also when talking about yourself :-)
I find this one impressive (metááál), and with your hair in a beautiful composition.

Hehe, well congrats!!

And erm, Icey’s name isn’t spelled as ‘ter Brak’ huh? ;)

Love,

Holy Cow!! And I thought it ending up beside the article would be cool.. but on the cover!! *picks up jaw from floor*

btw they did mess with it so to see.. the light from behind you on the original picture is green.. now it’s blueish..but looks awesome nevertheless.

Oy,

Very nice interview. I see you got very much carried away over the Blabbermouth issue. I was reading and reading and thinking “either they filtered very well or they censored” and then I came across the Blabbermouth piece. It starts with a very nice “diable” but get progressively worse from there … LOVE IT! ;)

It’s good to see you praising the POD. You’ve got the same PRO’s for the pod as I do and the same con (where’s the Wah? Coz that’s not a wah …).

Thanks for pointing that interview out, I loved reading it.

Ha ha, Elister. Nobody is going to ever let me live that one down. Good thing I’m not overly sensitive ;-)

Gwen, thanks! :)

Rob, if you had had access to my referrer stats over the years, you would understand my comment. Referrer stats are the PATH TO MADNESS…ye with your own websites, BEWARE.

Icey, the photo I sent them was the exact photo you sent me. It probably was just some adjustment they made for printing. Thanks for sending me that shot, btw! :)

Hugo, glad to see you here. Bring your sunglasses? ;-)

Kristof, the stuff I’ve gone on record with re. Blabbermouth and Internet hatemeister-loser-weenies doesn’t even scratch the surface. I don’t actually read French well at all — Sylvain translated my English.

And I agree…it is SO not a wah. Give me a Crybaby any day; a big, chunky piece of metal that goes “ka-chick” when you step on it…

Congrats ! I knew I should have taken French in high school. Icey, congrats to you also, that’s a beautiful photo.

Any chance someone here would be able to translate some or all of the article for us French impaired?

Hmm, does that mean that you won’t any promotion at my site? (not that I have visitors, so who cares…)

I was kinda busy tonight (and it’s already past 1AM) so I’ll read the article tomorrow. It’ll be a nice opportunity to get again in touch with my forgotten French knowledge.

Btw, when will you head to Mexico? Thursday, or..?

Ciao for now,
Robbo

Ps. don’t forget your cute Delfinius ;-)

Rob, I’m not sure about what you mean by promotion for your site. Maybe you should mail me about it.

I leave here on Thursday evening, spend the night in Copenhagen, and fly out from there on Friday morning.

It’s not like you have a couple hours to spare to come play in my band for couple hours a week, do you?

Hugo, I’m not sure I’ll have time to dig the English original out of my email archives and post here before leaving for Mexico, but will definitely try.

Ahh, great artwork ice! (even though its probably triggered)
Lori dear, a few more of these covershoots and you don’t have to work at a dayjob anymore ;-) . These things sell major! (and free publicity always good)

best of luck @ Mexico

P.S. next step the Cosmo or Avenue *GRIN*

Ok, ok, ok, I get the drift. So a feature inside FUZZ wasn’t good enough to promote here. Well, next time I’ll make damn sure it’s a cover story, too! The things a guy has to do…
CONGRATS!!! My French sucks (well, it’s non-existing), so I’ll go for the English one :-)

Hahaha, I was going to say “Good job at translating the article, Sylvain”, then I noticed this was the genuine article (pun intended).

But, then again, you did a great job translating the article to French! Very well done. You even managed to translate Lori’s little idioms. Amazing. So, in all sincerity:

Good job translating that interview, Sylvain!

Sylvain, thanks for posting the English version!

Oy, I didn’t mean it that way, Janne! The Fuzz interview was awesome (but its being the gateway to getting to meet you and Ozzie was way better :-) )

I really do have a terrible time doing things that smack of self-promotion (even on my own darn blog, dangit!). Heck, I’ve got tons of people who’ve signed up for my newsletter list and I never send newsletters because I’m afraid of “bugging” them. Anyway, I really did post the other one because I thought Icey would be happy about having his photo on a cover (I think he was!). I can scan and post the Fuzz too, so everyone can see how cool you made me sound in Swedish ;-)

The Frensh one was readable, but in English it was much easier. Thanks Sylvain!

Afraid of ‘bugging’ us, Lori? Ofcourse that’s not the point. Remember: we are the ones who signed up ;-)

Now you also made me curious to that FUZZ article…

God natt,
Robbo

Hehe, I of course didn’t mean it that way either. I was only kidding, dear. I may sound a bit harsh sometimes, but that’s because I’m a Sagittarius, you see ;-)
Hmmm… not being good at self-promotion sounds very “Swedish”. Yes, you are now fully acclimatized :-)

Rob, since I guess your Swedish may not be top notch (but what do I know ;-) ) I’ll translate it as soon as I have the time to.

Hahaha funny message! and great picture on the french magazine, my brother speaks french so I’ll tell him to translate the article to me, and then write a letter do you parents!!

They ought to know that kind of evil daughter they have ;)

I’m glad the mexican concert/tour went fine! and yes, you can drink water there, don’t worry, they don’t put chilli on it, at least not often :P

P.S: I’m still waiting for the announcement of a new SOP concert in Madrid… ;)

@ Janne: Indeed, my Swedish is not that great. I can understand a bit of Norsk, but Swedish is something quite different. I hope Lori will post it here once a day. Already many thanks for translating it ;-)

@ Carlos: You can already read the interview in English. Just click at the name of one of Sylvain’s entries here above.
